IBA Karachi Under Fire For ‘LGBTQ Dance Party’ On Campus [Video]

IBA dance party

As viral videos of a rave at Karachi’s Institute of Business Administration (IBA) emerged online, controversy followed. The rave was allegedly an LGBTQ dance party.

Reportedly a dozen students openly identified themselves as LGBTQ activists and promoted the dance party right under the nose of the campus management.

While some supported or slammed the IBA student body over this, IBA’s Disciplinary Committee (DC) is reported to have started an investigation into the matter.

The on-campus rave was reportedly organized by LGBT activists. While the videos from the event itself seem like a usual rave, the captions that were posted on some of the viral videos were pro-LGBTQ.

While the exact date of what is being called the ‘LGBT dance party’ is not known, the videos have been making rounds online since yesterday.

IBA Karachi is yet to issue an official statement regarding the viral video.

Videos of the people that are being dubbed homosexuals are splattered across social media in Pakistan, also raising concerns for their safety.

While there is no law explicitly criminalizing ‘being non-heterosexual’, most people from the LGBTQ community are prosecuted under adultery and prostitution laws.
