Imran Khan Shares Bollywood Clip To Make a Point [Video]

The Prime Minister compared a scene from a Bollywood movie to ‘a plot against his government’.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has been vocal about his dislike for Bollywood films for a while now. Apart from blaming Hindi cinema for the ‘decline of Pakistani society,’ he recently used it to make an interesting comparison.

Imran Khan compared a scene from a Bollywood movie to ‘a plot against his government’. He shared a video clip from the movie Inquilaab (1984) on Instagram and captioned it;

“It is what has been planned against the PTI govt from day one by the corrupt mafias”.

Good thing the clip can be easily found online. The movie scene showcases a meeting by members of a political party hatching a plan to destabilize the government. Watch the clip here;

Veteran actor Kader Khan’s character addressing the meeting saying;

“No where in the Geeta or Ramayana (religious texts) is it written that the government which has been in power for years should continue to remain. We, too, have every right to form a government, and we will do so no matter what!”

Laying out the details of his plan, he then says the party will have to ‘win the elections‘. They will do so ‘by winning the people’s trust‘.

“And to win the people’s trust, we will have to remove the people’s trust from the government,” Kader Khan says.

The villain then shares how the people must be led to believe that the government is ‘incompetent and dysfunctional‘. For that, they need to crank up the crime rate in every town and village of every province.

“There must be fear, restlessness and crime”

His associate then says that at this point, the party will ‘step out, get on stage‘ and ‘bad mouth the government‘.

“We will then tell them that if there is someone who can save the people, it is us and a government under us.”

Looks like Imran Khan used a Bollywood reference to throw shade at the Opposition. Maybe the Opposition’s Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in particular. PDM is said to be aimed at removing the premier and his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government from power.
