Pakistani actor, producer and writer Umer Sharif celebrates his 66th birthday with family and friends. The legendary comedian had a birthday party at a popular Karachi cuisine The Forest, hosted by Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz.
There have been very few Pakistani comedians that have captivated fans worldwide. One of the pioneers is Umer Sharif. The actor, producer, director, writer and comedian is regarded as one of the greatest comedians in the sub-continent. The renowned comedian is a household name in Asia, making people laugh for decades.
He is one of the few Pakistani celebrities that is respected and admired in India as well. Starting his career as a stage performer at 14 years of age, he has certainly come a long way. Some of his most popular comedy stage plays are Buddha Ghar Pe Hai and Bakra Qistoon Pe.
A Showbiz Legend
Umer Sharif has done a lot for the industry. He has won numerous national awards, including Best Director, Best Actor for 1992’s Mr. 420. Umer Sharif has won ten Nigar Awards, and is the only celebrity to receive not one but four Nigar Awards in a single calendar year. Other notable awards won by the legendary comedian are three Graduate Awards and four national awards. He is also the recipient of the honorary Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

Among the close friends is Good Morning Pakistan host Nida Yasir and her husband Yasir Nawaz.
