For those of us that complain about police not responding to our queries, just reach out to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad on Twitter. The man even responds to ‘non-police related emergencies.’ This makes him very popular on social media, maybe a little too much popular at that.
Recently the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Hamza Shafqaat announced that there would be an open court session in F-8 Kachery to address public issues. The purpose of the open court is timely resolution of public grievances, till 2 pm today.

In response a random Twitter user complained about the lack of vegetable options in the market. She wrote:
“Do you resolve ‘there’s nothing but eggplant, cauliflower, squash, turnips in the market. what are we supposed to cook everyday,‘ kind of problems?”

The tweet must have been a joke as pricing is a public grievance. But really, we think everyone agrees that ‘what are we supposed to cook?‘ is an emergency we can wait on.
Hamza Shafqaat went ahead and addressed this ‘non-police related emergency’. The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said:
“No, we don’t have a solution to that. In this regard you should consult ‘the department of Household Affairs‘. If that doesn’t work just make plain pulao.”

Now we know that the DC Islamabad can troll and advise people in the same breath, but that Twitter user didn’t stop there. She went ahead and offered to share the outcome for the solution.
“Sir, if I respond that way to my mother, should I keep all the praise that she’ll shower in response, or send you your share of this after 2 pm?”

Ouch! This troll vs troll match is entertaining on so many levels.
Despite the verbal sparing skills on both sides, this is a tough round to call. Who trolled who?

Funny that out of plenty of people who shared inappropriate responses to the open court announcement, DC Islamabad only chose to address this one.
