Following the sudden exit of Hamza Ali Abbasi, the rumor was rife that renowned actress Kubra Khan is also bidding adieu to the showbiz industry.
The rumor mill might have taken the hint from one of her interviews in which she talked about the experience of knowing her spiritual self during these past couple of months.
Since Hamza cited similar reasons for his departure, people started assuming that Kubra may be next to follow suit.
Kubra Khan responds
However, the ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ actress rebuffed those rumors in a recent statement, saying that she loves her acting career and has no plans of leaving the industry.
“So no, I’m not leaving the industry. Unless, years down, I feel like I’m not doing what I set out to do, then yes, I will change paths, and this has nothing to do with money.”
Reacting to the prevailing misconception on social media regarding her earlier statement, the ‘Parwaz Hai Junoon’ star said:
“I’m no religious scholar. I’m just somebody who wants to learn the right way of life, and I will try my best to do everything in my power to do that. I’m just somebody who wants to be guided on a path that makes Allah happy and not the path that makes him upset at me.”
It is worth mentioning here that the decision to leave the showbiz industry by Hamza Ali Abbasi, going so far as to cite religion as a reason for doing so, has not gone down well with many celebrities.
Recently, seasoned writer and director Amin Iqbal openly criticized his decision, saying that the ‘Alif’ actor was confusing religion with art.
