Student of the Year 2 actress Ananya Panda has been cast opposite Ishaan Khatter in Ali Abbas Zafar’s production debut.
While the “Dhadak” star was confirmed as the leading male actor in the film, Ali Abbas Zafar was looking for a young A-List actress. Now, it has been reported that Ananya Panda will be romancing Ishaan in the love story film set in Mumbai.

A source close to Ali Abbas said:
“Since the Maximum City-centric film is a fresh take on the romantic genre and revolves around young people. Ali was keen to cast actors who are a big draw with youngsters. Both Ishaan and Ananya have impressed with their first films but have not worked together so it’s a new jodi as well.”
Furthermore, the source also added that Ali Abbas Zafar feels that the romance genre is the best suited for him as a producer.
“But he feels this is the best subject and genre for him to turn producer. Being a writer himself, he has been involved throughout the scripting process.”
While the title for the film is yet to be finalized, production of the movie, as it is reported ,will start towards the end of the year.

Ali Abbas Zafar Profile
Ali Abbas Zafar made his debut with the rom-com Mere Brother ki Dulhania starring Ali Zafar, Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif.
He then went on to give the film industry blockbuster movies like Gunday (2014), Sultan (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and the recently released Bharat.
Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday
Ishaan Khatter is the half brother of Bollywood superstar Shahid Kapoor. He made his onscreen debut with the film —Vaah, Life ho Toh Aisi— in 2005 which also starred Shahid Kapoor.
He then acted in Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds and Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak. Ishaan Khatter won the Filmfare Award For Best Male Debut for Dhadak.

20 year old Ananya Panday is well-known for her role in Student of the Year 2 in which she acted opposite Tiger Shroff.
She will be seen next in Pati, Patni aur Woh alongside Kartik Aaryan. The film is slated to release in December 2019.
