Acclaimed filmmaker Jamshed Mahmood Raza, also known as Jami, has finally came out with the name of his alleged rapist.
Previously this year, the award-winning filmmaker had created a stir over social media when he took to Twitter to reveal his harrowing rape by a “media tycoon”. The incident took place 13 years ago in Karachi, but Jami has finally named his alleged abuser, Hameed Haroon, the CEO of DAWN Media Group.

Jami posted this incriminating tweet from the @azadjami1 account, which is the same account he used to also post tweets saying his original Twitter account, @jamiazaad, had been hacked.

Got know that THERE ARE MORE SURVIVORS OUT THERE! Who ever is silent is part of the assault.

A strong supporter of the #MeToo movement, Jami encouraged other survivors not to be afraid and come out and share their stories on social media.
People have came out in full support of Jami, including two former members of the DAWN media organization. Here’s what they had to say:
Former Editor of Prism:

Former Editor For Images:
Now that Jami has named his abuser major news organisations must do the right thing and REPORT THE STORY.

Will Justice Prevail?
We will have to wait and see how this unfolds, whether more survivors come out and share their ordeal and if justice prevails to see these culprits like Hameed Haroon pay for their actions or not. For now, we as a nation have to do some soul-searching as to how to prevent such incidents, how to offer protection to the victims and hold the culprits accountable for their heinous actions. What do you think should be done?
