Not only are web series catching on in Pakistan, now we’re also making a Netflix debut.

First Ever Netflix Original Series from Pakistan?
The author spilled the beans when Twitter was holding a discussion on what Pakistan’s Netflix original would be like if there was one (now we know).
Omar responded directly to one tweet that suggested his acclaimed book The Party Worker should be adapted into a Netflix original project. To this Omar responded that a series was already in the works.

About ‘The Party Worker’
Omar Shahid’s The Party Worker is a story which depicts Karachi’s criminal mafia, in cautiously divided chapters.
Each chapter of the book is dedicated to one character from the book. The characters all deliver their particular perspectives in this underworld and ‘give birth to varying consequences to the eventual truth‘.
The book is set in the midst of violence in chaos-torn Karachi.
Omar Shahid Hamid is currently working as a police officer. He’s also the son of Malik Shahid Hamid, the former Managing Director of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC). Shahid was murdered by workers of a political party, who were threatened by his attempts to combat corrupt practices in Karachi’s only power utility.
Omar’s other literary works include The Prisoner and The Spinner’s Tale.
