A maid in Karachi was arrested for stealing over Rs. 50 million from a bungalow in the upscale DHA neighborhood over the past 15 years. The investigation revealed that the woman, Shehnaz, had been living a lavish lifestyle, owning multiple properties and luxury vehicles.

Shehnaz was arrested in the Khayaban-e-Tanzeem area, where police discovered that she owned five cars, three flats, and a commercial shop. During interrogation, she disclosed that her bank accounts contained approximately Rs. 4 million.

Reports indicate that she frequently shopped at high-end malls and dined at upscale cafés after completing her work.

The investigation revealed that Shehnaz had been stealing from a specific room in the house where she worked, amassing a staggering amount over the years. With the stolen money, she purchased cars, properties, and even motorcycles. Notably, she owned a car valued at Rs. 6.5 million, which she used to travel around the city, and two of her three flats were rented out, generating additional income.

Additionally, Shehnaz reportedly opened a shop for her son, with the assistance of a co-accused named Asif. Police have recovered Rs. 600,000 from her residence and are actively searching for other accomplices involved in the scheme. Investigators are also looking into the extent of her property holdings in her native town.

As investigations continue, authorities are focused on uncovering the full extent of Shehnaz’s operations and any additional individuals who may have been involved in her long-term theft.
