On Wednesday, a woman was brutally assaulted by a gang in front of her children in Gujjar Pura area of Lahore. The group of men looted the woman and proceeded to sexually assault her. As of now, the police have launched a full investigation and have apprehended several of the suspects.
This week continues to highlight inhuman incidents all across Pakistan. More and more shocking reports of heinous crimes are being reported all over the country. Punjab in particular has seen numerous reports of women and children being sexually abused on a daily basis. This recent incident in Lahore has shaken the nation to its core.

According to available details, the woman was traveling with her children when her car ran out of fuel in the Lahore area of Gujjar Pura. The woman called the motorway police for assistance but was refused help as the operator told her that the emergency beat had not been assigned to anyone.
Stranded, with no sign of help, two assailants arrived and proceeded to loot the woman. They broke the glass of the woman’s car and took her to a nearby fields where they abused the mother of two. Deprived of her valuables and tortured in front of her children, the assailants easily fled the scene afterward.
The woman’s relatives filed a complaint against the attackers and the police started their investigation process, identifying the assailants. As of now, IG Punjab Inam Ghani has stated that the village of the culprits has been identified and an extensive search operation is underway. 12 suspects have been apprehended by the authorities.
We hope that these criminals are brought to justice and stern punishment is meted out for their crimes.
