KIPS College Gets Slammed For Protecting Teacher Involved in Sexual Harassment

His victims were ignored for years.

Looks like after victims of sexual harassment came out against teachers of Lahore Grammar School, students from other institutions are finding the courage to do the same. Now Lahore is speaking up against a predatory faculty member at KIPS College & Academy.

People are calling out KIPS English teacher, Irfan Babu in particular. He faces allegations of harassing his students for years. His alleged predatory behavior has been called out by many students on a Facebook group ‘Inside Institutions’.

There are many stories about his inappropriate and predatory behavior. ‘Irfan Babu‘ has been working with KIPS for almost a decade. He is now also a faculty member at the University of Punjab.

One after another, his students exposed Irfan Babu’s intent towards young girls and how he groomed his victims.

Complaints have been made against his behavior before as well. In one case, parents were also involved. However, the administration of KIPS chose to turn a blind eye to such behavior.

“I witnessed this pervert while I was in KIPS for my MCAT. The institute needs to be shamed as much as the harassers because they provide them with the breeding grounds which nurture these predators.”

Dirty jokes are a grooming technique used to escalate sexual harassment without alarming the victim.

 

There are numerous conversations shared by victims of him indulging in inappropriate conversations, propositions to meet up, etc. When sexual harassment is overlooked, it often escalated to physical harassment and even assault.

Excuses like ‘they are no longer our students’ are used to ignore harassment, despite legal obligations

 

No one questioned why Irfan was asking students to meet outside of school.

 

KIPS turned a blind eye to the harassment allowing it to escalate.

 

Yet despite complaints, students allege that Irfan’s harassment was allowed to escalate. In fact, the students say that the institution allegedly resorted to victim shaming.

Irfan also has his own academy NEST in Lahore. He also works with the Aspire Group of Colleges where he runs an entry test series by the name of SEEDS. With these allegations of his predatory behavior, the victims are asking – should Iqbal Babu be permitted to be around children, minor girls, and teenagers?

Reportedly, Iqbal Babu has also approached the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for taking action against those who have hurled these allegations against him.
