The last episode of Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi really brought into perspective the mistreatment of women in society. The current scenario in Pakistan made it all ring true even more.
"aurat apne aap ko ghair mahfooz na samjhe yeh hai hamari rivaayaat"
How relevant this line is today, to the circumstances endured the last few days: femicide in Pakistan, to what Quratulain, Saima and #NoorMukaddam endured #DNUTN #DilNaUmeedTohNahi

It really highlighted how women don’t even get a fair shot between child marriage and cracking down on dreams. Women are set up for failure, especially when their safety and security are taken away.
“Dukh ka rishta bara mazboot hota hai..”
Couldn’t help but sob while watching the last episode of #DilNaUmeedTohNahi today. Thinking of Noor. Of little Zainab. Of Khadija.. of so many who went unseen and unheard. Allah is watching.

Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi even highlighted this in its ending. While the brave and resilient Sumbul pulled through, she had Jamshed and Zulfi to save her and a whole lot of luck. This just reminds us of women in real life that weren’t lucky enough to have a man intervene.

While the drama gave us harsh and bitter realities, we forget the low probability of Pakistani society raising men like Jimmy and Zulfi.
Despite confronting us with the reality of child trafficking and forced prostitution, the drama also pointed out how we won’t change. While Naseem can be saved, a tainted woman like Rakhi can’t ever ‘redeem’ herself.

That isn’t stopping us from dreaming of a happier end for Rakhi.

People lauded Yumna Zaidi for taking on such a difficult role and then making it iconic. Hopefully, this will make a lasting impression.

Yet our attitude towards the drama says a lot about our growth or potential for growth in this regard.
From being rejected by the mainstream channels, getting pemra notices,a 9 months shoot gap, not getting enough hype&airing off for 1 month to earning real viewership, trending consecutively on yt twt&being critics top reviewed show, it made it's own imprints.✨#DilNaUmeedTohNahi pic.twitter.com/8tvI72LiwI

There are a lot of behavior and norms we accept that need to be unlearned.
I liked how Jimmy appologised to Rakhi even for raising his voice while talking to her. This is how men and all individuals are supposed to behave. #DilNaUmeedTohNahi

#DilNaUmeedTohNahi showed how it's so important to talk to your children, to not impose your decisions on them, to talk to them about their dreams, aims, without judging them.

Loved the relationship that developed between Sumbal and Jimmy❤️ Jimmy was so sensitive and caring. He treated Sumbal the way every woman deserves to be treated.
