Striking down earlier media reports of actress Zaheen Tahira passing away in Karachi, her grandsom has set the record clear.
Danial Shahzad Khan, special effects artist and grandson of Zaheen, has confirmed that his grandmother is currently in the coronary care unit at Agha Khan Hospital during late Thursday night.
He has also expressed the hope that she will be taken off the ventilator after undergoing treatment following her cardiac arrest.
The actress is recovering well as per her family.
Following an incident of cardiac arrest on Sunday, Zaheen Tahira was admitted to the Agha Khan Hospital in Karachi. She was put on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit shortly after.

As her condition further deteriorated, the Khuda Ki Basti actress was moved to the Critical Care Unit.

Zaheen started her career in the 1960s. She ruled the television screen throughout Pakistan Television’s ‘Golden Era’.
She is known for serials like Aroosa, Des Pardes, Kali Ankhain, Kahaaniyan, and Malka.
By the 1980s she had appeared in over 700 drama serials. She also tried her hand at producing and directing television series.
Zaheen Tahira was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2013. Then-president Asif Ali Zardari gave her the highest civil accolade for her notable work in showbiz.
She’s the epitome of grace and dignity in TV industry.
