Mahira Khan instantly rose to fame with her debut drama Humsafar. In the past, the actress has talked about her initial experiences in the biz.
Yet how exactly did she end up becoming an actor? In her appearance on Shaan-e-Suhoor, the 7 Din Mohabbat In actress shared exactly how it all started.

Prior to making waves in her debut film Bol, Mahira Khan was a VJ. Yet how exactly did she end up as a VJ? Turns out she was scouted by a television executive in the most unusual way.
“I went to Indus to pick my friends up where the channel executive Ghazanfar Ali saw me. Pointing a finger towards me he said, ‘girl come here, we need new VJs and you are suitable for that‘”.
Obviously being approached by a stranger, Mahira Khan declined even if he was a television executive. Her main concern at the time however was that she wanted to be a movie star, not a VJ.
“I refused him and said, ‘I don’t want to be a VJ, I want to be a movie star‘“.
However, the TV exec managed to convince her to be a VJ.
“He said that you will be a movie star too but right now we need a VJ”, said the Superstar actress.
Later on, Indus Music’s Vjs went to MTV Pakistan which was newly launched in the country. MTV Pakistan needed Vjs and therefore the channels requested that she agree to do a few shows.

Mahira shared how later on she began enjoying her job. Previously in her appearance on Speak Your Heart with Samina Peerzada, the starlet talked about struggling as a student in LA. As well as dropping out of college as a psychology major as trying to get into a film school.
However that didn’t work out and she returned to Pakistan and landed a job as a VJ.
