Mariyam Nafees Claps Back at Critics Over Baby’s Birth Abroad

Actress and soon-to-be mother Mariyam Nafees announced that she is traveling to the United States for the birth of her first child.

The actress faced backlash from critics accusing her of making the trip solely to secure American nationality for her baby.

But Mariyam Nafees, known for her candid personality, didn’t let the comments slide. Taking to her Instagram stories, she clapped back at the naysayers with a sharp and unapologetic response.

The criticism began when Mariyam shared her travel plans, with some people accusing her of exploiting the opportunity to ensure her child gets a foreign nationality.

Comments like “Bacha nikalna ja raha ho taka nationality mil jaye wahan ki” and “America ki nationality dilwany ja rahi hain” flooded her social media.

Mariyam didn’t hold back. She screenshotted the comments and posted them on her Instagram story, responding with a fiery rebuttal:

Our child gets the foreign nationality no matter where she/he is born because of the father. Not everybody travels to get their bacha the foreign nationality and secondly, there’s absolutely no harm in it. Given the current circumstances, you’d do it too if you could. 🙄 Shut up and sit down!

Mariyam’s blunt response resonated with many of her fans, who applauded her for standing up for herself. Given Pakistan’s current economic and political instability, many agreed with her stance, arguing that securing a better future for one’s child is a practical and responsible decision.
