According to the Times of India, film-maker Zoya Akhtar is working on a Gully Boy spin-off. No, the spin-off will not feature Ranveer or Alia’s characters. This time, Siddhant Chaturvedi’s MC Sher will be the star of the show.

“The film is entirely based on Siddhant’s character and traces MC Sher’s journey to becoming a hero.”

The rookie actor made his presence known in Gully Boy, and he did so with big-wigs like Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh stealing the movie. There’s no doubt that Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Siddhant Chaturvedi managed to hold his own in that regard.

It will be a Musical Tour De Force

Now the spin-off film will follow his rags-to-riches story. And of course, just like Gully Boy before it, the spin-off’s script will be enriched with enigmatic and gripping rap battles along the way.
“This will also give the makers a chance to delve deeper into hip-hop culture and you can expect many engaging rap battles..”

Aside from Ranveer Singh’s Murad Ahmed, MC Sher was hands down everyone’s favorite character in Gully Boy.

Siddhant’s portrayal of the struggling rapper, who hails from the slums of Mumbai, had film critics and fan-girls alike swooning.

After stealing the limelight since Gully Boy’s release in February, he’s now getting solo screen-time.
