NetherRealm Studios has set social media abuzz with the surprise reveal of Hollywood diva Megan Fox as the blood-thirsty vampire Nitara in the highly-anticipated Mortal Kombat 1.
Fans are shocked and in awe to see Megan join the MK family as none other than a fan-favorite character from the MK’s 3D era.
Gamers were treated to a thrilling first look at Nitara through a brand-new gameplay trailer with Megan Fox sharing glimpses of her voice acting and discussing her likeness to the character. Though a few found it strange that she opted for a fluffy pink outfit while promoting her gruesome character.

While Megan Fox’s involvement in Mortal Kombat raised eyebrows, it’s worth noting that her previous role in the cult classic film Jennifer’s Body makes her a fitting choice for Nitara.
NetherRealm Studios even paid homage to the iconic movie by incorporating references into the game, such as the moment when Kung Lao asks Megan Fox’s Nitara, “What did you do with Jen’s body?” during a versus intro.
Nitara’s return to the Mortal Kombat universe has sent waves of excitement among longtime fans. Initially introduced during the 3D era in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, she has not been a playable character since the days of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.
Mortal Kombat 1 is a soft reboot/prequel within the Mortal Kombat series. Gamers can look forward to its release on September 19, 2023, across various gaming platforms.
