Fashion statement

To cut all the conspiracies short the banarsi sash was actually supposed to be a tribute to India. According to the designer Herve Pierre;

“The sash was cut in an early XX century Indian textile documents I found in Paris through very good friends who are collectors,”

So even the designer might not have realized that banarsi sash is a throwback to pre-partition India.
