Misogynist Influencer Andrew Tate Converts to Islam [Video]

The controversial influencer is currently banned on all social media platforms.

Controversial kickboxer-turned-misogynistic influencer Andrew Tate has allegedly converted to Islam, according to various social media reports.

On 22 October, British Muslim and ex-MMA fighter, Tam Khan, tweeted a video showing Andrew Tate in a black satin suit, performing namaz at a mosque in Dubai, UAE.

Andrew Tate was in Dubai for his first-ever speaking event titled ’41 Tenets of Tate’ on 15 October. However, the self-proclaimed leader of the red pill movement failed to show up.

The video has gone viral on social media, dividing the internet as some congratulated Tate for accepting Islam, while others aren’t forgiving of his questionable moral beliefs, and are speculating that this is possibly a strategic move by the controversial influencer to gain more followers.

Here are a few reactions online to Tate’s conversion to Islam.

Who is Andrew Tate?

A former British-American kickboxer, Andrew Tate is one of the most infamous social media influencers of the current generation. The 35-year-old has been described as a ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynist’ by several people because of his controversial statements.

Due to his controversial beliefs, he was banned from all social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, on 29 August. However, he still remains a notorious public figure, making occasional appearances on social media.

The Red Pill Movement

The term is famously coined from the 1999 sci-fi film The Matrix. According to the film, the Red Pill is offered to the hero Neo (Keanu Reeves) to ‘awaken’ him to discover the truth about his reality.

The term became increasingly popular among male supremacist forums, and was adopted by far-right and white supremacists to describe their own version of “awakening” in the form of conspiracy theories that overlap with male supremacist positions, like anti-feminism.

Andrew Tate is notoriously famous in the ‘Red Pill’ community. Tate’s ideologies are rooted in misogyny as he revels in spreading his extreme ideas of ‘masculinity’. According to him, a woman’s role in life is to serve a man and be submissive.

A large number of Tate’s followers are young impressionable Muslim men. In a few of his videos, Tate praised Islam, stating that it is the religion that “solves all modern-day issues regarding women”. This has allowed him to amass a large following, making many young Muslims more partial to adopting his twisted ideologies.

By mentioning Islam, and now allegedly becoming a Muslim, Andrew Tate is more likely to influence more impressionable Muslim men.

  1. Munafiq author, how can you accuse someone of becoming Muslim for personal benefits without any proof? The only thing all this criticism shows is that some so-called ‘Muslims’ really hate it when people become Muslim. Keep burning, as the light of Allah will reach everywhere and the Munafiqeen will have nowhere to hide.

  2. As a journalist, and a muslim hopefully from pakistan i would have hoped for a better written piece. You put him down and used a lot of labels that people are using for him but failed to give any of his opinions. If you listen to him you would realise he espouses principles in alignment to our own culture and takes head on the social gender downfall against public opinion, mind you and this opinion is widely held by the majority of the muslims and islam. He is against women sleeping around and against gender change.

However the thing is no one is guided to islam except by the grace of God. So as such one should show a sign of respect to someone who has accepted islam. Since when do we judge peoples intention.

  3. He is not a misogynis whatsoever, it is the false media narrative imposed on him to sway the public opinion to support an unfair action.

  4. I’m really happy to see brother Andrew G becoming a Muslim and accepting Islam
Btw he’s not a misogynistic person that’s just fake claims of these dumb feminist’s who just jumped on the podcast and start speaking trash from their mouths
I support brother Andrew and also disagree with some of his things but that’s ok for now coz every change takes time
