Muslim Couple Gets Married at Protests, Delivers a Powerful Rebuke to India’s CAA Law [Video]

Amidst the ongoing protests in India, a Muslim couple tied the knot at the site of anti-CAA protest in Chennai on Monday, February 17.

The couple held a rather unique wedding ceremony while holding anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) placards in hands. The placard read:

“No CAA, NPR, NRC.”

Sumayya and Shahin Shah, have been actively taking part in the protests and they decided to get married at the venue of a protest in the capital of Tamil Nadu. With the approval from elders, their marriage was solemnized by an Imam amidst the crowd of protesters.

Sumayya was clad in a bright red saree with heavy zari work. Whereas, Sahin Shah, the groom, wore a maroon jacket.

Media outlets also reported that the couple received a warm welcome from the crowd and they were showered with gifts and cash presents.
