‘Nawa Aya E Sohneya?’ The Legend of Maula Jatt Overtakes Bollywood Films at the Box Office

Much like yesterday’s eclipse, The Legend of Maula Jatt overshadowed the two new Indian releases overseas with staggering box office numbers.

Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt, has outdone Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu and the Ajay Devgn-Sidharth Malhotra-starrer, Thank God, at the overseas box office.

The two Bollywood films that were released worldwide simultaneously on 25 October have fallen short of the Lollywood underdog in their opening week.

According to social media reports, The Legend of Maula Jatt managed to rake in over $46,825 in the UK from 56 screens on its 13th day in cinemas. On the other hand, both the Bollywood films barely managed to draw the same amount on their opening day. In fact, Thank God earned merely $19,472 from 83 screens while Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu made $16,595 from 95 screens.

Much like Tuesday’s eclipse, The Legend of Maula Jatt overshadowed the two Bollywood films in North America as well. The Fawad Khan-Hamza Ali Abbasi-starrer drew in a staggering $56,586 from 90 screens while Ram Setu made $48,330, and Thank God earned $40,358 from a whopping 354 and 228 screens respectively.

UK Box Office

The Legend of Maula Jatt: Day 13 $46,825 from 56 screens.
Thank God: Day 1 — $19,472 from 83 screens.
Ram Setu – Day 1 — $16,595 from 95 screens.

North American Box Office

The Legend of Maula Jatt – Day 13 – $56,586 USD from 90 screens.
Thank God – Day 1 – $40,358 from 228 screens.
Ram Setu – Day 1 – $48,330 from 354 screens.

The Legend of Maula Jatt continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its impressive storytelling and stellar performances, and its box office numbers from around the world are a testament to it. The film recently joined the 100 Crore Club at the international box office in just 10 days.

Despite such staggering screen counts, the Bollywood films have failed to surpass Pakistan’s Punjabi epic at the box office.

Looks like Maula’s epilogue rings true —

Maulay nu Maula na Maray tey Maula nai Marda!
