As Pakistan Super League picks up momentum, we’re getting more team anthems. Karachi Kings recently dropped their PSL anthem and it’s not the ‘Ye Hai Karachi‘ you thought.
Previously, Ali Azmat’s PSL 2020 anthem ‘Ye Hai Karachi‘ made waves. For 2022, Asim Azhar and Talhah Yunus teamed up to recreate ‘Ye Hai Karachi‘ but with a more R&B vibe.
Since it’s Asim Azhar you can expect a hip-hop track but rather than the usual smooth R&B or sharp rap track, the Karachi Kings 2022 PSL anthem has an upbeat pop vibe.

This might be the catchiest PSL anthem of 2022. Yes, it’s right up there next to the Zalmi anthem. This year we noticed a trend to bring in rappers and hip-hop artists for the team anthems. It is a tough call to pick a favorite, but rapping in a regional language does give you a competitive edge.
