In a grand-theft auto-esque scene a woman was robbed in DHA Lahore in broad daylight. The incident took place in Lahore’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA) residential area. A video of the robbery and failed kidnapping attempt is now making rounds on social media.
In the viral video, the criminals can be seen going inside the woman’s car and driving away.
According to the police, two armed men took the woman hostage when she was sitting in the driving seat of her car. They then blindfolded her and drove away in broad daylight.
Fortunately, the attempted kidnapping was a bust when the woman jumped out of the car when it slowed down in a traffic jam. Hence managing to dodge the criminals and escape. The woman then texted her husband and asked for help.
The husband then called the police. As per law enforcement officials, the incident took place on July 18th.
A case has been filed against the unidentified culprits on the complaint of Advocate Saira Malik.
Based on the report, the criminals stole her car, laptop, cash, among other things. The police are still investigating the matter.
Netizens have been really taken aback by the incident. Many pointed out how they did successfully kidnap her, but she escaped.
Others said the crime was being mislabeled. They called this a woman being robbed in DHA Lahore, not an attempted kidnapping.
