Pakistan team is on a roll, first defeating arch-rivals India and now New Zealand. The victory over the Kiwis had social media buzzing as people took to Twitter to share some hilarious memes.
Pakistan trounced India in emphatic fashion, with 10 wickets in hand. The men in green flipped the script cruising to an easy chase of 151. Following the historic win, the Green Shirts go back to normal as the excitement level goes down by this stage. However, that is not the case with with the game against New Zealand. For Pakistan, this is personal.
A month ago, the New Zealand team toured Pakistan after a long time. International cricket was finally coming back to Pakistan and the nation’s spirits were soaring high. However, before the very first match of the tour, the Kiwis fled home due to inexplicable “security threats”. The New Zealand side abandoned the tour at the last minute without any prior notice. This shocking and sudden change of plans was a big setback for Pakistan’s cricket revival. As for the Kiwi players, they decided to join the glamorous Indian Premier League (IPL) in UAE to get “familiar” with the conditions ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The stage was set as Pakistan inflected some “sweet revenge” on New Zealand, restricting their team to a low total of 134 and chasing it down in style with likes of Asif Ali and Shoaib Malik.
