Popular Comedian Tariq Teddy Passes Away in Lahore

Doctors revealed that he had suffered from liver-related health issues.

Popular stage actor and comedian, Tariq Teddy, passed away at the age of 46 in Lahore just days after he was moved to a ventilator following a prolonged illness. The Mirch Masala actor is survived by his widow and three children — a son, Junaid, and two daughters, Safa and Marwa.

According to reports, the late comedian was under observation at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKL) in Lahore. His doctors revealed that he had been suffering from liver-related health issues which had worsened over time and led to his death.

Known as the ‘King of Laughter’, Tariq Teddy had a knack for taking on clever roles in various Punjabi films.

Born in Faisalabad in 1976, he began his career as a performer in the late 1990s. Some of his most successful stage dramas include Ji Karda, Do Rangeley, Beatho Beatho Liya Dala, Asli Tay Naqli, Jhoot Bolda, Mirch Masala, Ghoonghat Utha Loon, and Eid Da Chan.

Tariq Teddy is fondly remembered for his contributions to the arts and theater industry with plays like Mama Pakistan and Abhi to Main Jawan Hun.

Fans best know him for his hilarious performance replete with witty remarks and comedic timing in the 2004 film Salakhain.

The iconic comedian may be gone but he lives in the hearts of fans for bringing smiles to people’s faces with his unique sense of humor and artistry.
