A toddler is now fighting for her life after the three-year-old was raped. Afshan is currently on the verge of death in a hospital in Hyderabad. Residents of the area are protesting against the harrowing crime
The toddler is battling for life after being raped in the Dadu district of Sindh. The news caused a nationwide uproar as a tweet of the suspect’s arrest made it online.

Parhlo reports, that according to the family, the toddler had gone out to play. That’s when the suspect took her to his house and sexually assaulted her.
“When we called the police, he refused to come out of the house,” the three-year-old girl’s uncle said.

Police arrived at the scene, led by the station house officer (SHO) of women police station, after hearing the loud cries of the victim’s mother. The mother cried out upon seeing her child bleeding severely. The area’s SHO had to barge into the house to arrest the rape suspect.
Afshan, the daughter of a laborer, was immediately rushed to a hospital by a policewoman and is admitted to Dadu Civil Hospital in critical condition. However, a police officer, Benazir Jamali shared how there were no doctors present to treat the dying toddler.
“When we reached the hospital, there wasn’t a single doctor after which the SHO became angry,”
Afshan was moved to a hospital in Hyderabad due to her critical condition. Dadu SSP Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh then went to the hospital to check up on the victim’s health.
Suspect Behind Rape of Three-Year-Old
Dadu SSP Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh revealed that an 18-year-old suspect has been arrested for the toddler’s rape. A case has been lodged against the accused, who is currently in police custody. Police continued interrogating the rape suspect at B-Section police station.
It is unclear what crimes the suspect is being charged for. Aside from rape, and child abuse, he might also be facing charges of 2nd-degree murder if three-year-old Afshan does not survive.
He also revealed that three accomplices are also involved in the harrowing case of child sexual abuse adding they would be arrested too.
Dadu SSP Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh vowed that justice would be provided to the Afshan’s family.
Meanwhile, the residents of the area have come out in the streets to protest after the three-year-old was raped. Protesters are demanding that the culprit be publicly hanged. The federal government of Pakistan just recently passed a law requiring those convicted of child abuse to be hanged publicly.
