Sacred Games Director Anurag Kashyap Quits Twitter Over Rape Threats

His family got threats from supporters of Modi.

Famous Bollywood film director Anurag Kashyap has deleted his Twitter account, following threats to his family.

As per the available details, The Sacred Games director has expressed fears about his family in India. Anurag says that he has been receiving threats ever since he spoke out against the fascist Prime Minister of India.

Recently he, along with 48 other public intellectuals, wrote to Narendra Modi, expressing their concerns over the rising mob lynching cases against Muslims in India.

Anurag Kashyap Gets Threats

After it made the news, a twitter user, who appeared to be a supporter of BJP, threatened to rape his daughter if he continues being critical of the Modi Sarkar.

“When your parents start to get calls and your daughter gets online threats you know that no one wants to talk. There isn’t going to be reason or rationale,” Talking about his decision Anurag Kashyap said.

“Congratulations everyone on this new India and hope you all thrive,” he added.

The acclaimed Hindi movies director explained that if he is not allowed to speak his mind, he better stay quiet.

“Wish you all the happiness and success. This would be my last tweet as I leave Twitter. When I won’t be allowed to speak my mind without fear, then I would rather not speak at all. Goodbye.”

Anurag Kashyap is among the few Indian celebrities who have spoken out against Indian PM Narendra Modi. Rather, being supportive of every wrong move of Modi Sarkar, he has slammed the Indian Prime Minister over rising intolerance.

After India decided to scrap Article 370 of its Constitution, Anurag Kashyap came out in support of Kashmiri people and called out Narendra Modi over this wrong move.
