Once again, some people took their feelings about a character too far. Veteran actress Sakina Samo has been receiving online hate for her role as ‘Durdana Aapa’ in Dobara.
The veteran actress is done putting up with the personal attacks over her negative roles onscreen. To the point where the Aseerzadi actress considered stepping back from acting due to the cyber-harassment.
“If this is the value of art, then I wouldn’t mind quitting the job,” she said.
So what triggered such a response? A negative comment from a follower on her Instagram account and their choice of words.
Five days ago a Netizen bashed Sakina Samo for her character in Dobara. Going as far as to use obscenities. The comments were on a now-deleted picture on Instagram captioned;
“In a complex world, be simple be closer to the truth. It’s about you. Peace to you all.”
Aside from the profanity, the follower called the artist a ‘cheap phuppo’ who doesn’t deserve to live.
In response, Sakina Samo asked why actors have to ‘put up with this and be bullied, harassed and threatened.’
“This… they value art and artists. I swear I feel like quitting this sh*t** job – where in return you get abuse,” wrote the actor.
Aside from removing the Instagram post with the original comment and her own response, Sakina Samo has also deactivated her Twitter account. It is unclear if this is just a Twitter cleanse or if these recent events pushed to withdraw from the platform.
