Veteran actress Samina Ahmed recently married Manzar Sehbai and fans couldn’t be happier for her. Things weren’t always so rosy and now people are bringing up her divorce again.

Samina Ahmed was previously married to film director Fariduddin Ahmed. The couple have two children together. However, things didn’t last and they got divorced later.

The reasons for the divorce just came to light. The reason being Farid’s ex-fiance Shamin Ara. While Samina Ahmed was her best friend, Farid was in love with Shamin Ara.

“We ended our relationship in good terms. If you are ending your relationship, it’s better to end in a good manner.”

Despite the divorce, they were amicable until Fariduddin passed away in 1993. Yet they were not co-parents despite no animosity.

“Being a single parent is a huge challenge in our society but I did it sincerely and it happened.”

Although Samina Ahmed revealed all this in an interview on ‘Rewind With Samina Peerzada‘, people are bringing this back up following her marriage to Manzar Sehbai.

In this old interview about the Suno Chanda actor’s marriage, she opened up about how the two met and married rather quickly.

“Our friends introduced us with each other. He was a very nice and attractive person. He proposed me for marriage and I agreed.”

According to the veteran actress, she was okay with Farid leaving as she wasn’t willing to tie him down.

“You can’t live with someone forcefully. If someone wants to walk out you can’t stay connected to them.”

Amicable or not, moving on from a relationship is hard and painful. Good thing her grandmother and friends were supportive throughout.

“None of my family members were here except my grandmother and friends who supported me. I am very lucky that I have got such good friends who supported me always.”
