Following the footsteps of Hollywood and Bollywood, local film and drama industry is also seeing the promise behind the web-series format. With many actors and directors launching their own web-based drama serials, Shamoon Abbasi is the latest to join the queue.
The veteran actor is currently working on a series called Mind Games. Directed by Farhan Tajammul and written by Inaam Shah, the new web-series will zero in on the issue of money laundering in the country.
The upcoming show is being prepared under the banner of Picture Wala Productions and will be the first of its kind to target a politically sensitive topic.
A Brilliant Script
When questioned about his upcoming project, Shamoon was all praises for the scriptwriter.
“Inaam is a very detailed writer; he gets into the nitty-gritty details. I can’t say how much research he’s been doing, but I can tell he’s done a good job.”
While shedding light on the nature of his character in the web series, Abbasi said:
“I like to do projects based in reality rather than fantasy stories. The story, inspired by some true events, is about money laundering done via models. My character in the serial is about is part of that gang that does all this business.”
Without sharing details about its release, Abbasi said that Mind Games is a potential Netflix project.
Other than Shamoon Abbasi, the web-series will also star Emmad Irfani, Kinza Razzak and Sana Fakhar among others.
