Recently many Pakistani celebs have come forward about being offered roles opposite Bollywood celebs. This has left us the most awestruck by far. The incredible actor and film-maker is making waves in the international film community with Durj screening at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
He’s also set on taking his web series Mind Games to Netflix. This will be Pakistan’s first original series on the digital streaming platform.

Shamoon Abbasi Was Almost Cast in Bollywood
Imagine that this Pakistani actor could have been another face in the Bollywood.
In an interview with Waseem Badami on the television show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh’ the 46-year-old actor shared that Vishal Bhardwaj wanted to cast him opposite Priyanka Chopra.

Shamoon Abbasi revealed that he got a phone call from film producer Hasan Zia from Delhi. Zia told him that Bollywood director Vishal Bhardwaj wanted him to cast him with Priyanka Chopra.
Schedule Clash
At the time Shamoon was tied up in ‘Waar’ and asked if they could push the schedule. In fact, he had eagerly requested if the schedule for the Bollywood project could be pushed a bit.
“He [Zia] got angry and said, ‘You’re telling me I should ask Priyanka Chopra to wait for you’. I said yes, he said ‘no’,”

Shamoon Abbasi’ directorial debut Durj was screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Its release is scheduled for October. The film will first be released internationally before hitting Pakistani screens.
Meanwhile last year his film ‘Mein Rahungi‘ bagged a number of international awards. Including four awards at the Crossover Film Fest Awards alone.
