This is Batman’s New Batmobile and Here’s How It Compares with the Others

Batman’s got a new ride. What are your thoughts?

The DC Universe is on a roll recently. With the success of Joker and Birds of Prey, fans are getting a much anticipated re-imagining of the iconic caped crusader, The Batman.

Director Matt Reeves is at the helm of the upcoming project and he is giving fans some interesting sneak peeks of the new Batman (played by Robert Pattinson). First fans got a look at the new Batsuit, then the Batbike and now we can finally see the new Batmobile and it is amazing!

Reeves posted our first look at the new Batmobile from next year’s The Batman on Twitter, and it’s a mean-looking machine.

Unlike previous on-screen Batmobiles, which have ranged from the futuristic concept car of the 1960s TV series to the stylized Art Deco turbine-powered car from Tim Burton’s Batman (1989)…

… to the urban military look from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

And the other variations of the iconic Batmobile.

Matt Reeves’ version looks simply like a classic muscle car with some dark aesthics. It is, perhaps, the most grounded and straightforward of the live-action Batmobiles, and we are not complaining.

The most remarkable thing about it — since it is not drenched in bat imagery — is its monstrous engine, which appears to take up about half of the new Batmobile’s overall size. Here’s one more look at the car (and The Batman):

The new Batman is said to be a “noir-driven” original story, according to the director, who has also worked on dark thrillers such as Cloverfield, Let Me In, and the epic War for the Planet of the Apes.

The movie stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Paul Dano as The Riddler.
