The story is based on incidents Marina had to face as a female biker-vlogger and how she had to deal with them. The project is also inspired by the social media debate on the infamous Lahore-Sialkot motorway rape incident where some people blamed the victim for being in such a predicament.

The film is directed and written by Abu Aleeha, who made his debut with the 2017 film Tever, with playwright Abida Ahmed of Zammy’s Productions in collaboration with Metro Life Movies.

“It (Sheenogai) conveys that bold people can be victims and poor, downtrodden individuals can be the oppressors too,” the director said in a recent interview.

The project title is related to Marina Syed, who happens to be an Afghan-Pashtun biker-vlogger. Other actors involved in the film include Aisha Faraz Rind, Kunwar Mudassir Shehzad, Ayaz Ali, and Bilawal Hussain.

The film has been shot in Baluchistan and is currently in the post-production phase right now. The film is scheduled for release on December 18.

We look forward to this intriguing film. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
