#TurgutAlp is trending on Twitter and for all the right reasons. Cengiz Coşkun, the actor who plays Turgut Alp in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, came live on Waseem Badami’s show last night and his Pakistani fans are going crazy about it.

The candid interview started with Waseem Badami and Cengiz Coşkun exchanging Eid greetings in each other’s languages, after which Shahid Afridi joined them.

The conversation then drifted towards some most asked fan questions about the Turgut Alp actor’s personal life. When Badami asked him if he is married, Coşkun revealed that he is still unmarried but yes, he is committed.

As the trio took turns asking and answering questions, the Coşkun was asked if he ever thought Ertugrul will be such a massive hit in Pakistan. He said that he expected Ertugrul to be a hit in Muslim countries but the success in Pakistan was more than something he ever expected.

Lala also expressed his love for the Turkish series and said that he urged his daughters to also watch the show. He said that it was a meaningful experience for him.

Coşkun also revealed some interesting facts about his character Turgut Alp that surprised Lala and Badami likewise.

Those who have watched the series, know that Turgut Alp carries an ax instead of a sword. Well, that wasn’t planned at all. In fact, it was Cengiz Coşkun’s decision to use an ax because he wanted his character to be unique.

Answering one of Waseem Badami’s signature Masoomana Sawal, the actor revealed that he learnt about his popularity in Pakistan through Instagram where he received quite a lot of ‘marriage proposals’.

Some Lighthearted Conversations

The revelation brought smiles on the faces of both Waseem Badami and Shahid Afridi because they know what goes through the mind of Pakistani fans.

Talking more about Pakistan and his familiarity with its language and traditions, Coşkun said he is aware of the Karachi vs Lahore Biryani battle. He also said he has plans of tasting both types of Biryani if he ever gets a chance to visit the country and then vote for the best. (But we all know who is the winner here).

When asked if he would like to work in a Pakistani drama/movie, the actor maintained that he will happily work in it as long as it fits well for him.

Towards the end of the interview, the Turgut Alp actor also said ‘Dil Dil Pakistan, Jan Jan Pakistan’ to express his love for Pakistan and his fans.

This was the first time Cengiz Coşkun was interviewed in Pakistan and he seemed to enjoy it a lot. The hosts also had a great time with him.
