Twitterati Dig Up Islamabad Police’s Hilarious Old Tweets [Mostly in PML-N’s Support]

Political bias or comedy gold?

The official Twitter account of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has come under scrutiny after netizens discovered a series of old tweets that can be best described as ramblings of an angsty teen or an ardent PML-N supporter.

From tweeting “Zalimaa Coca Cola Pila De” to mocking Imran Khan by quoting lyrics from Sunny Leone’s “Baby Doll“, ICT Police has not only become the butt of the joke but has sparked a debate about its impartiality and neutrality, especially after the arrest of the PTI Chairman on Tuesday.

Public opinion of the country’s law enforcement is at an all-time low and the discovery of these questionable tweets has only added fuel to the fire, leading to further skepticism regarding the police force’s conduct and its perceived political leanings.

Here are a couple of gems unearthed by the vigilant Twitterati.

The resurfacing of these old tweets has sparked a debate about the impartiality and neutrality of the ICT Police, particularly in relation to their political affiliations.

A tweet from 2015, urging followers to vote for the ruling party at the time, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), has also resurfaced, further raising questions about the credibility and impartiality of the police force.

As political tensions rise following the dramatic arrest of Imran Khan from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and the subsequent violent protests, netizens have been quick to question the ICT Police’s ability to remain neutral and unbiased.

It is speculated that during the previous tenure of the PML-N, which lasted from 2013 to 2018, a supporter of the party may have initially used the current Twitter handle of the ICT Police.

Despite the change in the political landscape, the ICT Police has continued to use the same account, which has raised eyebrows due to the apparent political bias showcased in some of its past tweets. It is worth mentioning that the admin of the account has now started deleting those questionable tweets, however, the Twitterati have plenty of proof in the form of screenshots.
