Despite all the love for Dhoop Ki Deewar, many have openly criticized the cross-border story. So writer Umera Ahmed is clearing the air on some misconceptions about the series.

Starring Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir, the web series tells the tale of love, family, and loss. Dhoop Ki Deewar had been assumed to be a cross-border romance but the trailer tells a story of a friendship rooted in shared grief.

Umera Ahmed wrote a detailed note with ten clear points addressing the criticism from people crying anti-patriot, to the rumored Hindu-Muslim love story, to sidelining local channels for an Indian platform.

The web series will premiere on the Indian streaming platform Zee5 on June 25th. The series cast Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir in central roles. Other cast members include Pakistani talents Manzar Sehbai, Saveera Nadeem, and Sumiya Mumtaz.

Aside from the central Pakistani cast, the series is also helmed by Parwaaz Hai Junoon Haseeb Hasan.
