‘Priyanka Chopra was speaking in her personal capacity’

He went on to add that UN Ambassadors personal views don’t reflect what UNICEF thinks about certain issues. He further added that UNICEF expects its ambassadors to adopt “Unicef’s evidence-based impartial positions” when talking on behalf of the organization.

Concluding Thoughts
We can’t help but think that the UN spokesperson’s response regarding the warmongering antics of Priyanka Chopra are nothing more than a diplomatic smokescreen. Her tweet in support of Indian armed forces is nothing but a mockery of the high values UNICEF claims.
UNICEF claims to be an advocate for protecting children from a host of medical, social and economic issues. But at the same time, it stands behind Priyanka Chopra’s stance, terming it as her personal opinion. A stance that could have potentially resulted in the death of thousands of children whom UNICEF claims to be an advocate of.
