New York Magazine held an event where celebrities picked their favorite New Yorker cartoons. Many Hollywood stars chimed in with their favorites such as Steve Martin, Mindy Kaling, Larry David, Seth Meyers and many more.

Amongst those celebrities was Padma Lakshmi, who was also chosen to pick her favorite cartoon.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed the reversal which Lakshmi playfully delivered to the publication “Hahahahaha! I see what you did there,” wrote one person. As Padma deliberately tagged the “New York Daily News” instead of the New Yorker Magazine.

Celebrities to the rescue

While Padma shrugged off the mishap. Celebrity Natalie Portman also responded to the error

Padma had earlier spoken to the Indian times about Indians finding their place in the West.

“I am very happy to see many more Indian faces on TV and in the arts and in publishing… It was hard to be an immigrant in the 1970s and 1980s. I am lucky that I managed to somehow find a place for myself. It is not like that I had a grand plan. There was no guarantee that I would be successful,”
