Ushna Shah recently come across an incident that compelled her to raise her voice against animal abuse. The actress shared a tearful video on Instagram, narrating an incident of animal abuse in Karachi.
Ushna begins that she came across this excruciating incident through a viral video where a dog was left on the streets to die a gradual and painful death in Bahria Town, Karachi.
“I just saw this viral video of a dog. He was sleeping next to a building and someone was filming the dog from above,” she began while holding back her tears.
“Then, a security truck stops by, and guards step out, shoot the dog near the hind legs and leave,” she continued.
Humanity is probably dead
The Bashar Momin actress was visibly overwhelmed with emotions as she described how no one came to the rescue. The dog could be euthanized, sent to a vet, or someone could have called an animal organization. But sadly no one stepped up.
“And since it was not a directly-fatal shot, that dog was left to die a gradual death while wailing in excruciating pain, and there was blood everywhere and everyone was watching, the person filming the video was also watching but no one came forward to help the dog or euthanize him but just kept on watching a voiceless creature in pain.”

Ushna Shah believes that human cruelty might be one of the reasons why we’re now going through a pandemic.
“There are lots of reasons being given about why this calamity of coronavirus has befallen upon us. Maybe this could also be a reason, to kill an animal heartlessly and then watching it suffer and this is happening everywhere across the country.”
She also highlighted the misconceptions regarding dogs and all animals in general.
“There is a false misconception that the coronavirus has spread because of them. Even before this virus, animals go through extreme abuse.”
