In India’s Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a shocking video has set social media ablaze, igniting fury within the Muslim community and beyond.
The footage shows individuals deliberately stepping on a poster bearing the sacred Islamic Kalima—“La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah”—and the Saudi Arabian national flag, placed on a busy city road. This brazen act, widely condemned as a calculated attempt to incite communal discord.
The incident comes at a volatile time of India-Pakistan tensions, and the video’s emergence feels far from coincidental. Shared across platforms like X, it shows men casually walking over the poster, which combines one of Islam’s holiest declarations with the Saudi flag. The deliberate nature of the act—filmed and circulated publicly—has led many to suspect a plot to inflame religious sentiments.
The Prayagraj Police have registered a case against unknown individuals under sections related to promoting enmity and hurting religious sentiments. SP (City) Dinesh Kumar assured the public, “We’re analyzing the video and will identify those responsible. We urge calm and caution against rumors.” However, the initial delay in removing the poster and the lack of arrests have fueled distrust.”
