When Faisal Javed Khan contested Fawad Chaudhry’s statement by arguing that this was a two-way deal, importing foreign content also allows for exporting content. He pointed out how masterpieces like Diriliş: Ertuğrul ought to serve as an inspiration to improve our own content.
“Such great productions like Ertugrul @DirilisDizisi will help our industry. We should show some amazing work that has already been produced, … Also we need to work on our substance / content. Our drama industry is one of the best in the world.”
…2/2 Also we need to work on our substance / content. Our drama industry is one of the best in the world in terms of talent, productions, direction etc. With great substance we can penetrate major markets across the globe. Cont…..

Faisal brought up the fact that the local industry wasn’t threatened by Indian dramas back in the day, so why is the popularity of Turkish dramas any different.
….3/3 Awwww wish we had reacted when rubbish Indian content (low standard dramas, films, songs) was aired across our tv channels, cinema & radio. Our own people promoted "Games of Thrones" here. Why shld we object Ertugrul type content. Even PTV used to air Good English film

That’s when Vasay entered the ring. He says that this wasn’t a pro-Ertugrul debate but rather an issue with existing legislation.
“Just for the record Faisal Sb, we have been protesting against Indian dramas being aired in Pakistan since the last 10 years or more. Back then Twitter or social media and all wasn’t that influential but that doesn’t mean that the protest or reactions never happened.”

The comedian further added that he was in no way in the anti-Ertugrul camp. He’s seen the globally acclaimed series and enjoyed it. Wasay Chaudhry wants improvement in legislation to support the industry because this isn’t about Ertugrul.
“The issue is NOT with the play, the issue is with PTV & the laws related to the entertainment business. You know it, so let’s try to resolve that rather than making it about just Ertugrul.”

That’s when Faisal Javed pointed out how PTV needs to straighten up and get back its audience first. So Ertugrul Ghazi serves that purpose. But in a rare sign of agreement, Faisal Javed conceded that there’s the need for laws and reforms.
“First, we need to bring the audience back on PTV as people had forgotten this channel due to poor content and quality.”
Yes Dear Brother! First we need to being the audience back on PTV as people had forgotten this channel due to poor content & quality. Substance, Content, Quality get you audience. Like all other institutions Our predecessors ruined PTV as well. PTV must revive itself now.
