Yash Raj Films is one of the most iconic production houses in Bollywood. Founded by Yash Raj Chopra back in 1970, the company is responsible for producing mega hit Bollywood films such as Veer Zara, Mohabbatein and classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ).
However, the famous Yash Raj Films has floundered in recent years, hitting an all-time low with back to back flops. The production company saw its decline after the passing of Yash Raj Chopra. Under Aditya Chopra, India’s famous film studio has put out a few hit projects here and there. People believe Aditya Chopra is having a hard time living up to his father’s legacy.
In recent years, the company has failed to bring in box office numbers, while also disappointing critics. Even the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar are not enough to save the recent films. The last four films Bunty Aur Babli 2, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Samrat Prithviraj and Shamshera flopped, failing to break even, let alone make profit at the box office.
All eyes are on the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathan to help Yash Raj Films break the streak of four flops in a row. Directed by Siddhart Anand, Pathan is SRK’s comeback on the silver screen after a long hiatus. The film will feature a star cast that includes Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia.
