Youngster From Karachi Builds The Batmobile From ‘The Dark Knight’

This is impressive.

A talented Pakistani youngster from Karachi realized his childhood dream as he managed to design and build his very own Batmobile! The 28-year-old spent an entire year constructing the iconic superhero car and we can’t deny, it looks spectacular!

Shaheer Khan is a 28-year-old mechanical engineer from Karachi. Like everyone, Shaheer is a comic book fan, especially the superhero genre. His most favorite superhero is obviously the Dark Knight (aka The Batman).

The youngster has been collecting Batman toys since he was a boy and had dreamt of owning his very own Batmobile. Since he can’t buy a Batmobile as it is a fictional vehicle, Shaheer decided to make one for himself.

Spending over £6300 of his savings and a whole year, Shaheer managed to recreate the iconic crime-fighting vehicle. His inspiration for the design came from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy. We gotta say, it does look like the Tumbler alright.

This is not just a showpiece as Shaheer’s Batmobile is fully functional. Designed using old car parts, the Batmobile is…well… mobile! People can take rides in the Batmobile and get the full experience.

“It was the coolest thing a kid could own,’ the 28-year-old told a reporter.

“It was a tough process and we overcame many obstacles, physically and emotionally. We were building a car from scratch without any blue prints and redesigning the insides according to our understanding.”

Shaheer revealed that he used plane tyres to match the chunky ones seen in the films. He then built an entire wooden chassis covered with carbon fibre for each tyre. All of it is designed by hand, as Shaheer stated ‘nothing was done by a machine’.

The Batmobile’s mechanical interior and dashboard have a sports steering wheel. It even has a rearview camera and a functional radio!

In his efforts to make his model as close to the “real thing”, Khan made sure that the windscreen opened from the front. Just like the movies!

We salute Shaheer Khan for his incredible and awe-inspiring creation. With the new Batman movie coming out next year, Hollywood executives should consider hiring this brilliant engineer for a new Batmobile. What do you think?
