The horrific murder has sparked public outrage, kickstarting a campaign against businessman Zahir Jaffar as Netizens demand #JusticeForNoor. People don’t want another violent crime swept under the rug by an affluent family.
Zahir is from the family behind Ahmed Jaffer and Company Ltd. Not to be confused with the Jaffer brothers or other similar groups. A United States citizen and mental health practitioner, his behavior is already being diluted with his ‘troubled past’.
While speaking to media SSP Investigation, Ataur Rehman said;
“Zahir was sound and in his senses when we caught him. He may have had a past history [of taking drugs] but at least at this time he was completely in his senses.”
He emphasized that police were focusing on the suspect’s ‘mental frame of mind’ and those initial findings indicated the suspect was completely aware of his actions when he allegedly committed the murder.
Zahir also had a flight to the US booked for the next day, Wednesday.

From petitions to calling for accountability of the mental health organization that employed Zahir.
According to reports, the murder occurred as Noor broke up with Zahir. Police obtained a three-day remand of the suspect from a local court.
Meanwhile, reports say Shaukat Mukaddam stated in his complaint that he had gone to Rawalpindi on July 19 to purchase a goat for Eidul Azha, while his wife had gone out to pick up clothes from the tailor. When he returned home in the evening, he found his daughter Noor missing from their house in Islamabad.
They found Noor’s cellphone to be switched off and started a search for her. Later, Noor called her parents to inform them that she was traveling to Lahore with some friends and would return in a day or two, according to the FIR.
Then on Tuesday afternoon, the complainant said he received a call from Zahir, son of Zakir Jaffer, saying Noor was not with him, the FIR said. By 10:00 o clock that night, Shaukat Mukaddam was informed by the Kohsar police station that Noor had been murdered.
