Zimbabwe Gets Revenge on Pakistan for Fake Mr. Bean [Memes]

Zimbabwe registered it second T20I won against Pakistan and the upset resulted in a meme fest online.

Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by just one run in Perth on Thursday in arguably the biggest upset of the 2022 T20i World Cup and got its revenge on Pakistan for sending it the fake Mr. Bean.

In a low-scoring match, the men in green fell apart chasing a mere total of 131 as the African team secured its second overall T20i win against Pakistan.

The match sparked all kinds of reactions on social media.

From blaming Pak Bean to trolling some of the Pakistani players, and calculating the team’s odds to qualify for the semi-finals, here are some interesting memes about the shocking Pakistan-Zimbabwe game last night.

The Zimbabwean team definitely earned the cricketing fraternity’s respect for its never-say-die performance yesterday. A tweep pointed out that this is the same team that could not even afford a sponsor to get it new shoes after every series.

One of the main culprits who let Pakistan down was Haider Ali who not only failed with the bat but dropped some crucial catches as well. Even the singer Asim Azhar couldn’t find a reason to defend his performance.

Pakistan’s fiery pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, who returned from injury, was not the same lethal bowler he once was, as one fan pointed out.

The heartbreaking defeat left many Pakistani fans disappointed in the team but not as much as this lady who had some very strong words for our national team for the “heart attack” it gave her.

Another Pakistani player who is having the worst World Cup is Mohammad Nawaz. The loss against India continued to haunt him as he didn’t bowl any overs on Thursday and lost his wicket in the final over. However, fans continue to support him through this difficult time and are not blaming him for the loss.

The whole ‘Pak Bean’ fiasco was the cherry on top of this embarrassing defeat.

The situation right now is all too familiar as Pakistani fans are now busy calculating their chances of qualifying for the semis. The men in green now rely on India to beat South Africa, and on Zimbabwe to lose two games.
