ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Development Working Party is poised to greenlight two pivotal digitalization projects aimed at revolutionizing the civic authority.
A meeting scheduled at the CDA headquarters is expected to convene on Friday to consider the approval of two Project Concepts (PC-Is): “Deployment of Centralized Wi-fi Systems” and “E-Empowerment in the CDA.”
These projects align with the Federal Government’s vision to usher in technological advancements and digitization within the civic authority.
A significant development in this regard was the appointment of Nauman Khalid as a Member of Technology and Digitalization in the CDA. Mr.
It is to note that Mr. Khalid, a Grade 19 officer of the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, is a close relative of former bureaucrat Nasir Khan Khosa.
Earlier this month, the CDA board already granted its approval to proceed with these initiatives.
The “E-Empowerment at CDA Project” is an integral part of the Federal Government’s five-year plan, with the first phase set to conclude in 24 months, carrying an estimated cost of Rs. 933.6 million.
Under this project, the civic authority’s website will be transformed, making it more secure, user-friendly, and interactive for citizens.
Additionally, a smart CDA app will be developed to enhance efficiency, offering a range of consumer services.
A cutting-edge Online Complaint Management System will also be introduced, allowing consumers to electronically address their concerns with the CDA.
Furthermore, the initiative will establish a Property Management System with an online portal for allotment and transfer.
It also includes the digitalization of property and land revenue records, promising improved consumer services, and an augmented revenue stream for the CDA.
Upon completion, citizens will have the convenience of making online payments for various CDA services, including Property Tax, Water and Allied Charges, Annual Ground Rent (AGR), Lease Extension, and more.
The project will also introduce an Electronic Auction process for CDA auctions, inviting local and global participation to foster healthy competition and boost revenue streams.
Concurrently, the “Deployment of Centrally Managed Wi-Fi System at CDA Headquarters” is expected to be completed in the next 11 months, with an estimated cost of Rs. 94 million.
This endeavor aims to establish a secure Wi-Fi infrastructure for reliable communication, facilitating internet access, email correspondence, and software application usage.
Besides, this new infrastructure will be a backup to the existing 18-year-old wired communication, which is scheduled for replacement in the project’s second phase.
In addition, the funding for these projects is being sourced from the CDA’s internal resources, and the Project Concepts will be presented before the CDA Development Working Party by the Director of Information Technology.
