Anjum Rahman, Director PR at Telenor, Resigns

Anjum Nida RahmanDirector Corporate Communications & Responsibility, Telenor Pakistan, Anjum Nida Rahman, has resigned from her position to get back to journalism.

She had resigned on Friday and will be leaving Telenor Pakistan by end of January 2012.

Anjum expressed satisfaction with her tenure at Telenor Pakistan, “Fifteen months in Telecommunications feels like a lifetime. I have learnt the nuts and bolts of this industry and I want to take these insights to the next level and incorporate the use of this medium in to both the development and government sectors.”

Anjum was appointed as Director Communications & Responsibility, at Telenor in October 2010.

Anjum served Express News 24/7 as senior Producer/Special Correspondent. There she had been host of the TV news & current affairs talkshow ‘The Other Line’. Anjum also contributed to The Express Tribune for a while.

Prior to her association with Express Group, she worked as Senior Media & Advocacy Officer at the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad from 2004 to 2008.

It is interesting to note here that this is the third director level change in Public Relation department at Telenor in last three years and second time in a row that Affan Haider, Manager Corporate Communications, is given acting role company’s spokesperson.

Reportedly, Telenor has not announced the position so far. We will have to see if Affan is promoted to Director’s position and things work around better for him especially when Aamer Izhar ul Haq has replaced Aamir Ibrahim as VP Corporate Affairs.
