97% of Punjab’s Taxes are Received Through e-Payment Methods

Punjab Minister for Finance, Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that almost 97 % of taxes are being collected through e-payments in the province.

She stated this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)’s developed online Business Registration Portal at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

Dr. Ayesha said that the Punjab government is firmly determined to make Pakistan a developed country by enhancing the growth rate while improving the security and energy conditions.

She said that the efforts are afoot to create conducive and business-friendly environment across the province by integrating more departments into the portal.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for industries, Sheikh Allauddin said that the new industrial policy was in the final stage and will be announced soon.

Addressing the ceremony, PITB Chairman, Dr. Umar Saif said that all the large functions of Punjab have been digitalized during the last five years including police, health, education, e-stamping, e-ticketing, subsidies on various services, transfer of property, providing various services through e-Khidmat Centers – all under one roof.

The Portal is developed for the Punjab Planning and Development Department in collaboration with the Industries department.

The Portal will provide an online solution to execute all business processes in a user-friendly environment and to improve productivity to conduct business registration activities efficiently and in a timely manner.
