We found this news in Telecom tiger yesterday that Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) is engaging in acquisitions talks with a number of domestic companies, as it eyes mergers for the fiscal, quoting Chief Executive Officer Walid Irshaid.
After investigating into the issue, we found that there is nothing much going on right now, however, sources predicted that PTCL may eye WiMAX player for buyout. As recently there came a new that PTCL is eyeing WiMAX market as well.
Moreover, as per sources, PTCL also spoke with Warid Telecom for partial buyout, but things didn’t work out, as Singtel stepped into the scene.
Walid Irshad made another comment that 6 cellular operator should become three – are they looking for a cellular company?
