Telenor Concludes Summer Internship Program 2012

ISLAMABAD, 10 October, 2012: CEO Telenor Pakistan Lars Christian Iuel, Chief Human Resources Officer Shoaib Baig and Chief Strategy Officer Kazim Mujtaba with the graduating interns of Telenor Summer Internship Program 2012Telenor Pakistan successfully concluded its Summer Internship Program 2012 with a Certificate Awarding Ceremony at a local hotel here in Islamabad. The ceremony recognized the talent and achievements of the interns and is a tribute to their hard work and commitment.

This year 62 students were selected from a pool of 9000 students through a recruitment process which included an online test which was attempted for the first time by any employer. The students went through tough filtering criteria and multiple rounds of rigorous interviewing. This program provided internship opportunities to students from top 16 different universities across the country and 6 of these interns have already been taken onboard for employment. The aim was to develop these individuals towards becoming the future success stories in their respective fields.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Executive Officer Telenor Pakistan, Lars Christian Iuel said, “Telenor Pakistan Summer Internship Program is a unique initiative not just in the telecom industry but across Pakistan’s corporate sector. The interns we hire are crème de la crème of their educational institutions. These students take their time at Telenor Pakistan a long way and graduate from their apprenticeship with a well-rounded understanding Telenor Pakistan as an organization and as a cultural benchmark, not only in the industry but also in the multinational sector.”

During his address at the ceremony Chief Human Resources Officer Telenor Pakistan, Shoaib Baig said, “At Telenor Pakistan one of the key components of our People Strategy is developing future leaders and our focus in this regard is not limited to our employees but also extends to our interns. This makes our internship program unique, taking a hands-on approach to training across all segments of the business and creating our business leaders of the future. Moreover, it is one of many projects that Human Capital Division is running to ensure that we bridge the gap between academia and the demands of the corporate world. Our experienced team members are always ready to mentor and to share their knowledge and expertise.”

The placement offices and Deans of various universities also attended the event. Later in the evening certificates were awarded to the interns.

  • The process of recruitment is just to show the SOPs. However, reality is different as every body knows. Only individuals with strong references are given the opportunity. It doesn’t mean that they are not talented but merit, talent and recruitment process in true sense is sacrificed and it makes a person which doesn’t have any reference, near to impossible, to be part of this organization- All this is due to lack of professionalism…

    • This is Pakistan wait actually this is Asia :P where you need to show either a reference or experience. You can’t have both at once if you have reference you don’t need experience and if you have experience you might also need reference but thats just 20%.

  • @Mehwish and Aamir Bhai

I have just observed that website with the name of Telecom Recorder is displaying this article AS IT IS. He is also displaying google adsense on his site I wonder how these people survive by running site with the help of copy paste stuff. You help is required to take action.

This may also result in some people considering that copied stuff have been pasted from Telecom Recorder over here.

As far as I am concerned I strongly believe that this article was published first on your site and got stolen thereafter.
